On my CB500 in the cente lane, I clipped a cable hanging down from the overhead gantry. Bike sent into a wobble and we eventually parted company, sliding down towards the M25 junction. Ambulance, Police and Highways Agency all called to the scene. Me and the bike both a bit bruised, but my protective clothing all held up (huge hole in the arm of my jacket). Thankfully, nobody seriously injured but I suspect I might be a bit sore for a few days. Oh, and the bike started first time after I'd stood it up. You gotta love the Honda CB500!! Think a new exhaust can may be needed No, it's not a specially shortened racing break lever, it snapped off Yep, a new can will probably be needed... ... and probably will need a new cover on there Considering it stopped so quickly on its side, there's not too much damage Scratched cheek plate. Probably won't be able to get a new one of those in a hurry Think the cable probably hit the wing mirror for it to end up that way round Direction of travel, East to West. Bike in the distance by the central barrier, skidmarks diagonally left to right The cable I hit, hanging down from the gantry The coil of cable laying in the road, and tied off to a traffic cone by the police officer on scene. Think I might need a new tyre if this much of it is left on the A2 Looking back towards the point of impact
